UK REP'S UK CHART UPDATES!

Yes that's right! It's BACK!!! Every Monday I will bring you the latest goings on with the OFFICIAL UK Charts, Albums and Singles! So here is the latest news fom the UK charts! Enjoy! And be sure to comment on what you find out please!

Kanye West has scored his very first UK #1 single with the track 'Stronger' which knocked Robyn's 'With Every Heartbeat' from the top spot!

Mario made a respectable peak position at #21 with his BRAND NEW single 'How Do I Breathe'! This is not very bad at all considering that the song has not been played that much here in the UK and he has done absolutely NO promotion to help the record! Let's just hope that by the time the album drops in October we see some promotion!


Eve has also made an intersting appearance in the UK Singles Chart at #35! Again this is good because she has done NO promotion and the video I have only seen once on UK TV! The single is physically out this week so hopefully it will creep up a few places on next weeks chart! Although I'm sure that this is not a postition Eve will be happy with after a 5 year break!

Their previous single 'Cupid's Chokehold' was one of the BIGGEST selling singles of the year so far and it seems that their follow up 'Clothes Off' will follow in its footsteps having entered the chart at #8 on downloads alone and a week ahead of physical release! It is a great track and makes me wonder whether Patrick Stump should permanently join Gym Class Heroes as every track he features on becomes a huge hit!

Having been released to iTunes this week 'Ayo Technology' has proved a major HIT here in the UK with it reaching #23 in the UK Singles chart on downloads alone two weeks ahead of physical release (27 August)! It is amazing what power iTunes can have on the singles chart! I really hope this becomes a huge hit for him as the production from JT and Timbo is amazing and should be recognised! lol!

UK REP'S UK CHART UPDATES! *new feature*

This is a BRAND NEW feature for my blog where every Sunday or Monday I will post the latest news from the UK Charts! For those of you who do not live in the UK, the charts take place officialy on BBC Radio One every Sunday evening! This is the post when I announce the UK's number one album & single as well as intersting moves within the chart! I hope you enjoy this post! And as it is a new feature, a little bit of feedback will be greatly appreciated!

• Rihanna has held on to the top spot of the UK charts with 'Umbrella' featuring Jay Z for an AMAZING 7th week, making it the longest running number one this year!

• The Editors have snatched the top spot in the UK album chart from the White Stripes who fall to 4!

• One of my fave new artists for 2007 Kate Nash makes an impressive debut with her single 'Foundation' at number two only narrowly missing the number one spot from Rihanna!

• Kelly Rowland has a dissapointing number 37 position for her sophomore album 'Ms. Kelly'! This is really bad news for her and I hope she climbs next year as the album is really really good!

• Going straight in at number 18 on downloads alone is Timbaland with 'The Way I Are'! This is impressive and I am glad that weeks ahead of physical release the song has charted! Good on him!

• The sophomore album from Ms Kelly Clarkson makes it's debut at number 2 in the UK Album chart, which makes it he highest charting CD in the UK as 'Breakaway' peaked at 3!

Alicia Keys Show Us Who She Really Is In October!

Alicia has recently released info on her new album due out October 23. I can reaveal that the new record will be called 'As I Am' and two tracks featuring John Mayer are set to make the cut! She has also been woring with John Legend (how could would a duet between them be?) and man of the moment: Timbaland! This album is shaping up to be BIG! U lookin' forward? I sure am! Source

Rihanna Secures An Amazing 6 Weeks At The Top

Rihanna has spent an amazing 6 weeks at the top of the offical UK Singles chart with the track 'Umbrella'! This is so far the longest running number 1 in the UK in 2007, so major propz to her! She has come back good this time and has really got her recognition! With no BIG singles released in the foreseeable future, she seems to stay there for quite a while! How long u think she could last? Please let me know! Source

Backstreet's Back Alright!

Yes you heard your boy UK Rep right, the original boyband have not been dampened by a flop album (2005's Never Gone) and a member leaving and have been busy, as a four piece in the studio getting their new record ready for an October 31 release date! The guys comeback single 2 years ago 'Incomplete' was a good tune but the album was dissapointing, I hope they do a 'Take That' and come back with quality tunes! Source




Pharrell Williams Works With Three BIG Divas!

Looks as though Pharrell has got an eye for the ladies, especially the DIVA variety. Pharrell has just completed work on Jennifer Lopez's upcoming English album as well as Britney Spears big comeback record. It seems that after working with these two he has a taste for the DIVA and is set to make Janet Jackson's new album sound hotter than ever! I always think that Timbaland is better at producing than Pharrell but I hope Pharrell comes out with some big tunes for these three!

Here is the new video to Beverley Knight's second single from her amazing Music City Soul album! The video I think is really nice because it is natural and easy to watch! The song itself is not the best single choice but let's hope this single does better than No Man's Land which failed to enter the UK Top 40 singles and gained a position of #43! What do you think of the video? I wll reallly appreciate your feedback on this!

UK REP XCLUSIV: RIHANNA BREAKIN' DISHES IN THE UK!!!

WOW! I have just been watching Rihanna LIVE on TV at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend here in the UK! They have just announced that on downloads alone she has become the official UK Number One single! I was completely shocked that she was number one this week, (the single isn't out physically for two weeks!) and thought Maroon 5 would get the top spot! However, I am not unhappy but really really happy at the news she has got her first UK Number 1! Her highest position to date is 2 (Pon De Replay, SOS & Unfaithful)! Anyway, back to her performance, she performed a BRAND NEW TRACK called 'Breakin' Dishes' and she did an AMAZING job, her performance was great she had so much energy and then slowed it down for a great rendition of Unfaihful! 'Breakin' Dishes' is a fantastic uptempo song and has NEVER been heard before so this is good news for her UK fans! She also announced that her second singles IS 'Shut Up & Drive' some of you may be familiar with this track already as it has been released to radio but no HQ has sufaced yet, the performance of that track was energetic and rlly got the crowd going with a great chair dance!!! I am so happy that Rihanna is in the UK promoting her new recorrd, I don't remember her promoting this much in the UK, but it seems to have paid off as she is the UK's number 1 single! The intro to the performance of 'Umbrella' was 'Love To Love You Baby' the same sample her rival Beyonce used in Naughty Girl! The audience also had umbrellas with Rihanna and her log on them! Man I wish I woulda gone to get me one! If any of you did go or see her on the TV please give me your thoughts and opinions! I leave you here below with photo's from her amazing performance! I CANNOT WAIT to cop that new album of hers!

I am really upset and NOT happy that NOBODY has commented my posts in AGES! I have made the effort to post EVERY SINGLE DAY and I heve even made ANOTHER blog dedicated to the UK Reality TV show 'Big Brother' (check that site out here)! Please please please make comments they really make me feel as though my hard work is paying off! Yet again we have a UK artist which is much better than she is given credit for! I posted her last single 'Don't Give It Up' a while back and despite being a great song it only reached #45 on the official UK Singles chart! However before she released her album 'Ghosts' (June 26) she wanted to release another single! And here it is 'So You Say'! The track is said to be more radio friendly and I kinda agree! She is also apparently going to do heavy promotion for this single and album making it the MAIN single from the album? What do you guys think of this great UK artist? I have alread recieved in the past great comments for this girl from people outside the UK aswell as in the UK! Please let me know your thoughts? Is this single better than 'Don't Give It Up' - I'd love to hear your views! And of course as I always say but you never do - PLEASE SAY THANK YOU!

MAJOR UK CHART BATTLE!

Who would have thought it! It has been reported this week that in the mid-week charts there were just nine copies in it between Beyonce & Shakira's Beautiful Liar and Arctic Monkey's Brianstorm! With Beyonce & Shakira taking the mid-week top spot! I really want them to stay number one for Sunday's chart! Please let me know in the comments section whether you want Beyonce & Shakira or Arctic Monkey's to become the UK's official number one!

Well done to Take That, who have scored their second number one since they refomed with 'Shine' I really like this song and am glad it's done so well!

Another huge well done to Omarion, whose sophomore set '21' managed to debut in the UK Albums Chart at #24!!! This is a massuv achievement seeing as his debut failed to chart! His single 'Ice Box' has a lot to do with the albums success, and the physical CD of 'Ice Box' is out this week for only £1.99!!! So if you live in the UK please but his single and give him his first #1!!!
